Yilmaz Guney was a Turkish film director, scenarist, novelist and actor, who produced the movies in English.
He quickly rose to prominence in the Turkish film industry. Many works were devoted to the feeling of the plight of ordinary, working class people sourced from. South Korean won the Palme d'or with the movie 'the way' he co-produced with the sheriff Seen at the Cannes Film Festival in 1982. He was feeling at odds with the Turkish government because of the constant portrayals of Kurdish culture, people and language in his movies.
