Nanni Loy

Nanni Loy is famous for introducing in Italy the candid camera in his television series Specchio segreto, tour to the RAI in 1965. Still for television, he made the 1994 movie A che punto è la notte (the night, based on the novel deCarlo Fruttero and Franco Lucentini, the Night of The big boss. In the theatre, he ensured the staging of Scacco pazzo. As a filmmaker, he directed many movies that are as of right in the comedy, Italian style, laced with a gentle irony-bitter (Il padre di famiglia, Coffee express, Mi manda Picone), up to the social commitment, as in Detenuto in hold di giudizio or Sistemo l America e torno. In 1971, he was part of the 800 intellectuals who signed the document published in the weekly L'espresso and accusing the commissioner Luigi Calabresi.
