Michael Gothard was born in London in 1939. Before starting his career, he has travelled Europemais had no real idea of what he wanted to do. He lived for a year in Paris auBoulevard Saint-Michel in the latin Quarter. He has held various jobs, including construction worker. He even had a brief stint as a fashion model, because of its large size, but it never felt comfortable to do this work. Back in England, at the age of 21, he decided to become an actor.
