Jacques Chirac
Jacques Chirac, born on 29 November 1932 in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, is a French statesman.
Founder of two political parties ranked to the right of the political spectrum, the Rally for the Republic (RPR) in 1976 and then the Union for a popular movement (UMP) in 2002, it occupies several times the function of deputy of the third constituency of the Corrèze department, and is the mayor of Paris between 1977 and 1995. Prime minister under the presidency of Valéry Giscard d'estaing from 1974 to 1976, he was appointed head of the government for the second time in his career by the socialist president François Mitterrand, in 1986, following the victory of the right in the legislative elections, thus being the first head of government of a cohabitation in the Fifth Republic and, at the same time, the only political personality under the plan to be assumed by two times the function of Prime minister.
