Ivars Vigners

Born in Riga, in musical family. Father — a famous Latvian conductor and composer Leonids Vigners grandfather was a composer and choral conductor Ernest Vigners. From the age of five and studied piano under the guidance of Professor Valery Soest. In 1950-1958 he studied at the Riga music school. E. Darina, first V. Soest, and then Nikolai Fedorovsky, piano. Since 1958 from the same teacher he studied at the Latvian state Conservatory. J. Vitola, from which he graduated in 1964. After graduation, he worked as a sound engineer (1966 - 1970). The pianist and the concertmaster of the symphonic orchestra of Latvian television and radio (1965-1971), a member of the Union of composers (since 1977). Since 1971, the composer and Creator of musical accompaniment for theatrical performances. Including: "Svejk" Arvid Cepurisu and Valda Gravina (1974) and "the Sins of Trina's" Rudolph Blaumanis (1983). Ivars Vigners worked a lot with children's music groups. Experimented with the modern computer processing of music. Wrote the music for art 37, 15 entertainment, 36 documentary films, more than a hundred short documentaries and commercials. Died in Riga after a long and severe illness.
