Folmer Rubæk

Folmer Rubæk are trained at the acting School at Ålborg Theatre 1964 to 1966, and participated in the State Teaterskoles course 1971. Originally he trained to become a teacher, but came to the scene because of his singing voice. As a member of The Funen Opera Chorus he sang the clerk in "La Traviata". Later he studied in Munich and Vienna, and sang the bl.a. Papageno in "the magic flute". Folmer Rubæk made his debut as a student at the Aalborg Theatre in Svejk in the Second world War in 1965. Ago he performed at Svalegangen in Aarhus, The New Scala theatre, Gladsaxe Theatre, Perth Theatre, Folketeatret, Fiolteatret, Amager Scene and he had through the 12 years roles at Aarhus Theatre. In 1986, he came to the Odense Theatre. Here, he was the first værtshusholder Thenardier in the Danish première of "Les Misérables", and later he played for four months the role at Østre Gasværk Theatre. After that he has bl.a. 300 times the game bagermesteren in "Cyrano" at Gladsaxe Theatre and on tour. On TV he has been with in the "Cop on Samsø". Folmer Rubæk has also played the role of Olaf Torkildsen in a German TV-series "captain since Harmsen".
