Cheik Doukouré

Born in 1943 in Kankan (Guinea), Cheik DOUKOURÉ arrived in France in 1964. He enrolled at the Sorbonne in modern literature and at the same time at Simon and then at the Conservatoire de la rue Blanche. He began a career as an actor and rotates with directors like Audiard, Mocky, Girod. In the theatre, he plays in plays staged by Chéreau, Hossein, Mondy... In 1977, he wrote the screenplay for Bako, the other shore, and in 1985 co-wrote "Black Mic-Mac". In 1991, he began a career as a director with "White Ebony", and then directed "The golden ball" (1993), which, with 450 000 entries in France, is one of the most successful of african cinemas. In 2001 he produced "Paris according to Moussa". Cheik Doukouré gets in 2003, the male interpretation Award at the 18th edition of Fespaco (Pan-african Cinema Festival of Ouagadougou), for her role in Paris according to Moussa.
