Ángel Fernández Franco

Angel Fernandez Franco, better known as " el Torete or the Trumpet was a felon and Spanish actor who rose to fame acting in the trilogy of stray Dogs. After a career of crime, The Torete participated as an actor of the so-called juvenile delinquency cinema, coming to the top of her acting career under the direction of José Antonio de la Loma. For many it was the greatest exponent of this genre, and there is no doubt that his interpretation gave the film the necessary strength to be something more than simple movies. In 1977, with stray Dogs, he got the popularity and fame that would follow with the film Perros callejeros II (1979), and The last blows of The Torete, (1980). In the three films also acts together with him his brother, Basilio Fernández Franco, who died in 1995. The whole saga was illustrated musically by groups of rumba, such as Los Chichos, Los Chunguitos, or Bordón 4. This latter group dedicated to him his theme, "The Torete". In 1985 he participated as an actor in the movie "Yo, el Vaquilla", this time performing at the lawyer "The Heifer". He died of aids in 1991, and is interred in a niche in the Cemetery of Montjuïc, in Barcelona.
