Ana Cristina Barragan is an Ecuadorian filmmaker (1987). She made her first short film when she was only 20 years old. She has directed three short films: Awake/Awake (2008), Sunday, violet/Violet Sunday (2010), Anima/Spirit (2013). Awake was screened at several international film festivals. Sunday violet premiered at the Locarno festival. Alba (2016), her feature film debut, won the Lions Films Award at Rotterdam, the Jury Mention at San Sebastian, and several other international awards.
