Alan Wilder

Alan Charles Wilder né le 1er juin 1959 à Hammersmith est un claviériste, compositeur, arrangeur et producteur anglais. Il est essentiellement connu pour avoir été, de 1982 à 1995, membre du groupe Depeche Mode. Musicien de formation classique et producteur de musique contemporaine, il apporta une contribution artistique importante aux albums du groupe par ses expérimentations sonores. C'est parce qu'il ne jugeait pas son travail estimé à sa juste valeur et en raison d'un conflit récurrent avec Andrew Fletcher qu'il décida de quitter le groupe en 19951 pour se consacrer à son propre projet expérimental (trip-hop, électro et expérimental) Recoil fondé en 1986. Il a publié sous ce nom six albums : 1+2 (1986) Hydrology (1988), Bloodline (1992), Unsound Methods (1997), Liquid (2000) – Grands Prix du Disque de l'Académie Charles-Cros – et subHuman (2007).
